Exciting times for The Reykjavík Global Forum

WPL is honoured to announce Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir as the Chair of the Board of the Reykjavík Global Forum – Women Leaders.

The Forum since its launch has developed and attracted great international interest, so much so that a more dedicated focus was needed.  Hanna’s new role as Chair will allow her to focus her efforts on the success of the Reykjavík Global Forum, by fostering lasting partnerships and continuing to bring together leaders from all over the world to help achieve the mission to increase the number and influence of women leaders across all sectors.

Hanna’s extensive experience in the public sector and international organisations have made her a perfect fit for this important role. Hanna is currently the Senior Advisor on Women’s Leadership at UN Women in New York City. She has also served as Minister of the Interior (2013-2014), Member of Parliament of Iceland (2013-2016), and Mayor of Reykjavík (2008-2010). Prior to becoming the Chair of the Reykjavík Global Forum – Women Leaders, Hanna served as the Chair of the WPL Board, where she will remain an active member.

“The Reykjavík Global Forum is not only one of the most exciting events where women leaders share their ideas, solutions and power for a better future – but has also developed into a dynamic community of leaders that come from different countries, sectors and experience with the mission of using their power together.  I am more than honoured to continue being a part of that great and important mission.”

WPL is privileged to benefit from Hanna’s knowledge and expertise to enhance the Forum as a platform for one of the largest ever gathering of current and former female Presidents and Prime Ministers, business leaders and those from civil society.
