The Reykjavík Global Forum took place earlier this month but the conversations have only just begun. Icelandic embassies around the world are hosting local gatherings, inviting women leaders from across sectors to exchange ideas on how to build a more equitable and sustainable future in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These gatherings are called Reykjavík Conversations.
The Reykjavík Conversations aim to combine a range of views to create new chapters of the Reykjavík Manual and to expand those already published. Attendees will be listed in the Reykjavík Manual as co-authors for their participation.

BUILDING TOGETHER TOWARD TOMORROW
The Reykjavík Global Forum 2021
The two-day hybrid convening featured both virtual sessions and in-person connections, bringing the global community together. The Forum was also the first occasion for women leaders from across all sectors and geographies to connect, take stock of new post-pandemic realities, and share solutions to build a more equitable future.
The participation of Conversationists was crucial to encouraging commitments to Power, Together as well as to finding inclusive solutions. We are eager to continue to Power, Together throughout the coming year, until we meet again next autumn at the Reykjavík Global Forum – Women Leaders 2022.
Did you miss the Forum? Do you want to rewatch it? You can take a look at the photos and videos on demand!

FORGING A DEEPER SENSE OF COMMUNITY
Off-Venue Activities
The Reykjavík Global Forum community seeks to engage in pursuits that broaden our minds and strengthen our bonds. On November 7th and 8th, the Forum featured several off-venue activities for the Conversationists to foster a deeper sense of community while enjoying a richer experience of Iceland.
We thank Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, President, Iceland for hosting a special dinner, the Global Goals World Cup for inviting our Conversationists onto the football field, and 66° North for the memorable happy hour.
Conversationists also got the chance to explore Iceland through various activities including visiting the Fagradalsfjall volcano, taking a dip in the Atlantic ocean, and visiting the oldest Parliament in the world, the Parliament of Iceland. Explore the activities and take a look at the photo albums!
CELEBRATING THE LEADERS WHO ARE POWERING FOR PROGRESS
Power, Together Awards
The Reykjavík Global Forum community strives to change perceptions, challenge tomorrow, and advance society. The 2021 Power, Together Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of organisations that advance an agenda for more representative leadership across the world.
This year, the Power, Together Awards have been presented to the World Economic Forum’s community of Young Global Leaders®, the Global Goals World Cup, and Fora. The Forum congratulates these three organisations that are at the forefront of creating more equal and exemplary leadership!
