The landscape of 2020 changes every single day. From stories of success in reducing coronavirus cases to more cautionary tales; we are all adjusting to this new normal.

Understandably, this type of environment sparks concern about what the future will hold. How should we respond? The response of the Reykjavik Global Forum – Women Leaders is clear: make a plan; transform uncertainty into action and conversation;  build back better.  

Governments, organisations, businesses and everyday citizens are learning how to cope with this new reality, while continuing to pursue the causes and work that is important to them.

The Reykjavík Global Forum – Women Leaders is no different. In fact, since the very beginning, our vision has been a strategic, and flexible, one. Not only are we monitoring the evolution of the pandemic in Iceland and around the world, but we have designed an innovative multi-site format to adapt efficiently and safely alongside the constant change that is intrinsic to the current reality.  

While global health and safety remains our first priority, the opportunity to build back a better society with equitable access to leadership for women cannot wait. That is why, no matter what happens, it’s going to happen! The Reykjavík Global Forum – Women Leaders, that is. 

Conversationists and partners from academia, business, politics, civil society organisations have already begun to commit themselves to being a part of the discussion. The 2020 Reykjavík Global Forum – Women Leaders remains ready to adapt responsibly and efficiently to any developments.
